Burlington Northern Santa Fe operated a special train of seven of its own business cars, north along Colorados Front Range to Denver. On Tuesday, May 4, 2010, the Union Pacific had been working on the line just south of Monument, when the BNSF special slowly passed Woodcarvers Road, to eventually meet a southbound BNSF manifest freight at the Monument siding. North of Monument, the special train wound its way to the top of the divide at Palmer Lake. BNSF C44-9W 4405 pulled the special, which consisted of business cars Cajon Pass, Stampede Pass, Trinchera Pass, Raton Pass, Stevens Pass, John S. Reed and William Barstow Strong.
