yeah, that's really, really not true. Brad Pitt is the most famous actor in the world, and that includes Japan. American movies are popular in Japan, and American tabloid-style bullshit obsessing over celebrities is popular in Japan as well. Brad Pitt also has been doing advertising for jeans in Japan for years. They might not have seen all his movies, but they know who he is.
