Late last year, Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) and the Alliance for Worker Freedom (AWF) formally requested an investigation by the acting United States Attorney Channing D. Phillips, Esq., into the potentially illegal lobbying activities of the Service Employee International Union (SEIU) President Andy Stern.

Today, CNNs American Morning did a piece on SEIU lobbying for the healthcare bill. Carol Costello asked Stern about the ATR/AWF investigation. The White House declined to comment on the story while Stern claims he will send ATR/AWF a letter explaining the issue. To date, no letter has been received.

For more information on the investigation, visit www.atr.org or www.workerfreedom.org.

  • The unions just got a big piece of the pie through backroom deals with Dems on the HC bill.

    ...What's new??

  • The difference terpis, is that one of these presidents campaigned on transparency and the shutting out of lobbyists. No one is denying Bush and his crew met with lobbyists, or that they had backroom meetings. But they did not campaign on the fact that they wouldn't like Obama did. Hypocrisy you can believe in.

  • Yeah, they got a different view of America. We are looking at America through the eyes of the Constitution. Andy Stern DOES NOT. He is a Socialist/communist.

  • @pbsisson Change your registration to 'idiot'. Nice spelling mistakes stupid. You are a typical low IQ conservative. Go fck yourself.

  • VIOLATION!?

  • ATR: 'Murica's lobbying watchdogs.

Missed this face of the org back when it was VP Cheney calling the energy lobby in to craft the Bushie energy agenda.

For a sense of the amazing hypocrisy here, google up the story containing this passage:

"[Ed] Gillespie's group [21st Century Energy Project] was funded almost entirely by his corporate lobbying clients. Newsweek claims that Enron laundered $50,000 to Gillespie through Grover Norquists Americans for Tax Reform."

    Weasels.
