  • lol Fumi always blames anything like that on China...or is it reallty from China, did I miss some major event?

  • @MicknFumi

To be precise, the source of the sand is China, Mongolia, and Kazakhstan. Strong winds pick up the dust and carry it over to China, Korea, and Japan, or even the United States as someone mentioned here.

  • thanks for all yur work: nice videos as always!

And by the way, I discovered your wonderful channel after my trip in Japan. I was in Fukuoka for a couple of days! :,,(

Ohh yes, and even if you're not a vegan/vegetarian, you should try "Manaburgers" (google the website): it's in Fukuoka and, when we were there we loved that place!!

    have a nice day!!

  • @gmista Too bad. Drop me a line the next time you make it to Fukuoka.

Will definitely check out Manaburgers and report on it here or at JAPUNDIT.

  • It happens sometimes in Italy to get sand from the desert. When it rains everything is covered with red sand afterwards! One time we had pink snow (snow mixed with red sand) over our mountain village; it was wonderful!

  • @bestiaccia Pink show.... Now that sounds cool.

I remember when I was little we would go to my grandmother's house, which was virtually next door to the U.S. Steel mills. In the winter, the surface of the snow was dark gray from the soot. Dig in past about the first quarter inch or so, and it was pure white. I thought it was pretty cool at the time.

  • Yeah... yellow dust days are back!

  • @edwardinjapan Bloody hell, there must be some pretty serious wind happening to blow the sand all the way across to the US.

  • @edwardinjapan

    Ok, I will!

A manaburgers report would be awesome! Always the best from Japundit!

    Looking forward to it!

  • @edwardinjapan Very cool indeed!

The week after we had pink snow, we had the "sandwich effect". On the top of the walls we could see three layers of snow: white, pink and white again! It was in the Alps (near the French border) in the early eighties. :) I wish I had some pictures!

  • Spooky, but cool.

  • Sometimes the yellow sand from china makes it all the way to California. We used to see it sometimes when we lived down there.
