Part 33 - Chapter 1, Stanza 45-47. http://www.crystalclarity.com/product.php?code=BEBPB The Essence of the Bhagavad Gita Explained by Paramhansa Yogananda as remembered by his disciple, Swami Kriyananda. This book shares the profound insights of Paramhansa Yogananda, author of Autobiography of a Yogi, as remembered by one of his few remaining direct disciples, Swami Kriyananda.

This revelation of India's best-loved scripture approaches it from an entirely fresh perspective, showing its deep allegorical meaning and also its down-to-earth practicality. The themes presented are universal: how to achieve victory in life in union with the divine; how to prepare for life's "final exam," death, and what happens afterward; how to triumph over all pain and suffering.

Swami Kriyananda worked with Paramhansa Yogananda in 1950 while the Master completed his commentary of the Bhagavad Gita. At that time Yogananda commissioned him to disseminate his teachings world-wide. Kriyananda has in his lifetime lectured, taught, and written over one hundred books based on Yogananda's teachings.

The Essence of the Bhagavad Gita is available from Crystal Clarity Publishers.

  • AWESOME! Thank you Thank you!

  • Nice video thank you swamiji for sharing.I look forward to hearing from you again

  • The gist of this talk seems to be "abandon the householder life to find Spirit." But where else would one go? "A monastery," seems to be the answer. Having been around the block a few times, I've noticed that monasteries and "spiritual communities" are by and large as full of, or more full of, melodrama as anywhere else. If only it were so easy to find a way out of life's unpleasant lilas, but it's not. C'est la vie. Whatever one's calling, the same wisdom must be found.

  • We are coming from a dark age where religious teaching got distorted. In the Christian teaching, in 325 AD the bible as we know it was put together by a bunch of men. They included some gospels and left others out. The result was an all powerful church which was the only way to salvation. The truth that was not taught was that the way to salvation was an inward journey available to all people regardless of religious affiliation. Many people have been taught that merely believing is enough.
