Maybe that girl with the grey hoodie that ran up and started walking behind them was a Shikomi-san, usually they would follow some of the Maiko/Geiko to parties so they can get a sense of where all the main Ochaya are. But I agree when pushy tourists try to follow them and touch their obi or furisode sleeve or whatever, that's just plain sad :/

Wow, people have some nerve for following them so closely! Don't they realize that these women are human beings and not coloful toys to be chased around?

All I can hope is to one day have the luck of admiring a maiko or geiko at a respectful distance...not stalking her down the street!

The girl following is them is a Shikomi. She became a Maiko for awhile, her name was Yukiko. But she quit after awhile.
