The Japan Bowl® was created by the Japan-America Society of Washington DC in 1992. It is an academic competition that tests the achievements of high school students throughout the United States who are studying the Japanese language. But the Japan Bowl goes beyond Language. It also tests the students' knowledge of Japan, the country.
The 2011 National Japan Bowl will be held in the 4-H National Youth Conference Center in Chevy Chase, Maryland on April 7-8, 2011. The Sakura Matsuri - Japanese Street Festival will be held the next day, April 9.
