PWC Commentary:

Rather lengthy sample of the Peg 9 of a Timeless Tower. I have to say, this particular clip was a personal feat on many levels. First of all, I only have one set of ship hull, but in this video several times there were two in a single shot. Using blue-screening and intense shot/set-up planning, I was able to come past this set-limitation. The Monarchial ship was shot and made first. Next, this video features the effect of 'water' I've used quite a lot in my recent productions. If anyone asks, it's just a dark blue comforter which I gently pat between frames. This also made rocking of the ships more possible, by being places on movable surface. Next, the map: I spent about 3 hours or so experimenting and creating this map on a free program, GIMP (for mac, pc, and Linux I believe). It's very close to photoshop. I imported and masked sketches of a few different mountains, the castle and tower. I'm quite pleased at how it turned out

  • Very nice! I have one question though, you know the guy in the background on "Link's" spinney thing, well, in Peg 9, it shows Link going into the future, so by now I'm guessing that the "spinney thing" is a commonly used form of transportation. So, the gadgets that Link had in the past which were considered high-form technology, while in the future, everyone has them? Am I correct?

  • Nice speculation. The idea is that this 'city' has a sort of highway system, the rail lines, so most people would have them.

  • what did you use to make the ocean

  • It's just a blue cover/comforter, like you would use on a bed, and it works great.

  • Sorry about all the questions I'm asking... but before I start filming this certain scene for my Zelda movie, can I please get permission to use the water/comforter idea? I will credit you for the idea FIRST in the description... I would also understand if you said no.

  • I think the water thing was a good idea, and good ideas are best when spread around. Anyone may use this method for water animation as they please (and change it/perfect it) My tip for doing this, though, is *lightly padding the water, otherwise too much movement is incredibly distracting.

  • In my video editor, you can change fonts, colors sizes. It's about as good a MS word for that sort of thing. (btw, it's called iMovie, for macs)

  • AMAZING! How do you get certain words a different color like "Stonewall Village"?
