The teaching on the Maharishi's is so amazing. I find that statement to be the most profound one, thank you for sharing. I treasure this one.

I think that this empty state of wanting comes from the fact that Mankind has been displaced from creation and placed in an unnatural world of money, career, and a false image of human existence and purpose. Since we were all born into this state which we accept as "normal". our spirits cry our for what is missing from our lives. That is the connection with our mother Nature. We have no idea what was really intended for us so we dont know what we want. But we know something is missing.

Neither right nor wrong in wanting mic-or lotto. Attachment to wanting or not wanting leads to proportionately dissapointing outcomes. Obsession is borne of fear. Fear attracts. Fear promotes miracuously synchronic negative co-incidences. Fear is the opposite of Faith. Faith engenders Grace. Grace is the escape clause from this twin headed dilemma. How so? I do not know! However any mechanism for redirecting your attention from the over grown garden of your mind.will work. Life will flow..

Isn't to 'not want' a want to 'not want'?

If I really look, inwardly, I think I find that most of my emotional misery comes from wanting something or someone that I don’t have.
I've contemplated the following anxiety-triggers, this afternoon: we're miserable because we don’t have 1) the perfect lover 2) the perfect job 3) the perfect boss 4) the perfect bank account balance. When we covet, we are miserable. Miserable, miserable, miserable.

this is similar to lester levenson's directive to "stop wanting, and have!"

The whole issue of "wanting" usually has do with greed, short-lived thrills, or addictions. "Wanting" a family, regular affection, and useful work are not things we should "Mooji" away. I spend years in a Buddhist temple and now my wants are simple: To live in a state of love, to care for animals and people, to do useful work, to make a difference daily, and to share that journey with a passionate, sensual partner. Don't translate the "not wanting" into a defeatest attitude of "not trying."

people chase hapiness because they're afraid to death of depression. again, they hold on to the temporary passing moods.

Not to want - such a simple and powerful instrument on the way of being happy.
"... when you get the thing now, ok, the agitation stops, and it is the relief from the agitation that you're interpreting as the joy you're receiving."
Particularly exceptional satsang, thank you! :o)
