@hayhaygreer Nope, you don't have to do a layout if you have enough B, C, D skills in other ways.

Wow, Sunny.......the tricks get harder, AND the beam in general gets harder as you get taller? That's intense. By the way, what are "passes" on the beam? I'm not a gymnast by any stretch of the imagination (no pun intended, lol). Also, when I said that I just recently learned to do cartwheels and bridges, I meant on the GROUND.

@EmilyA1984 oh sorry, haha. passes are like when you do a set of skills from one end of the beam to the other. like when i did the backhandspring backhandspring. so you can imagine, if i was shorter i'd be able to do more than 2 if i had wanted to.

Does beam get easier as you get older/taller? I mean, I know the routines get harder, but I meant, the feeling of being on the beam in general. I'm just asking that because, I've watched a lot of videos of gymnastics, and I see all these little girls just starting gymnastics, and the beam is sometimes over their heads--and yet, they get on, and do handstands and cartwheels and whatnot as if it's nothing. Either way, though, you did awesome--I only recently learned cartwheels and bridges.

@EmilyA1984 if anything, people say it gets harder. when you're short, you have more length to do passes. and the beam may seem wider than if you are bigger. but you grow slowly, so change isn't really noticeable unless you go months without working out. :)
