  • I have to ask the most obvious question why buy and ship cranes from China to Great Britain when we can build them here with British steel and British workers ? We must be mad !

  • the best crane if you want is made in japan, korea or the Philippines they are very reliable because they use the best steel on earth and japanese, korean and filipinos are good on that field.

  • Go figure- We have three Zhen Hua cranes here at our port and the longshoremen I know love them. I've heard them called "The Cadillacs".

Perhaps they have gone downhill since 2000, when we got ours:(

  • ZPMC are cheap Chinese cranes, we have had some serious problems with ZPMC cranes the past few years... give us something made by Americans, Brits, Swedes, or Germans with

Euro or USA steel. You get what you pay for, so don't skimp on the major equipment.

Especially since our tax dollars pay for our ports!

Cheap is great, until someone gets killed.

  • Cheap Chinese cranes! We in the USA had bigtime problems with ZPMC new cranes the past few years. Those problems didn't inspire confidence...

Do you really trust their steel and welding long-term?

Not to mention our tax dollars paying for major outsourcing, what a scam...

We'd feel much better and safer if our ports had Swedish, Euro, or USA-made cranes!

Yeah- cheap is great until someone gets killed huh?

  • Anyone else think it's a bit suspicious that this happened just as imports and exports started to drop off dramatically?

  • Amazing... folded like a piece of cardboard.

  • I work in the port in sweden where the first crane were supposed to come to, could say that we got a little delay on that. ZPMC is delivering our crane in march 2009 instead cause they had to bring it back and repair it.

  • holy hell...always a windy place that felixstowe......
