Also - I think the three were probably showing off a bit - not intentionally, but just their egos and probably looking down on what they consider the amateurs. Not so much the Sherpas - but just looking at the whole operation as if they were better. Regardless,violence is never the answer,so in the end-the Sherpas were wrong for ganging up on them.They could have killed them.I doubt the ice that fell on the Sherpas was a big risk-but probably just pissed them off, egos hurt or a bit of jealousy

Sort of crazy to think there's any "new" routes left after the mountain has experienced so many climbers. But even if they were attempting a new route, they should have known that the mountain at this time of year is owned by the hundreds of tourists who have paid thousands of dollars to get up it. That's gold for the Sherpas and many guides, so doubt they want some elites doing their own thing in what they believe is owned by them. It's sad - but that's how it is.
