I got here after watching 'Les Enfants du Paradis' for the first time yesterday. I almost fell over when I saw the moonwalk sequence. Anyway, it is certainly a great film which I plan to watch again.

True. Ettienne Decroux was the teacher of Barrault and Marcel Marceau. He also plays Baptiste's father in this movie. Barrault is playing a character based on the famous French mime Deburau, who probably performed these same illusions 19th century.
