I would like to complain about our recent booking on wotif.com
I am now seeking a FULL REFUND on the $284-95 paid via credit card. I will be filing a dispute with the credit card provider if you DO NOT respond to this email within 7 days.

I am totally shocked that you allow an establishment like this to be on your books. The Greenmount Beach Resort is an absolute disgrace.

Issues:-
1) on the final day of staying we discovered a used condom and wrapper on our balcony. This is disgusting as we have a young child.
2) the hotel is NOT a 3 star establishment - should only be 1 star.
3) the hotel is in desparate need of renovation - absolutely lowest standard of hotel I have ever seen.
4) There is also not enough parking for the amount of rooms so we had to park down a side street. That is just slack.
I have never had such a terrible experience with an accommodation provider. Our room was small and dated, terrible odour, the beds were very uncomfortable and the pillows must have been as old as the hotel. We were woken TWICE in the middle of the night as another patron partied outside.

Best thing they could do with this place is knock it down. Awesome location but a total dump.

This hotel was in appalling condition. No money has been spent on it since the 70s judging by the decor. The staff was unhelpful.

Apparently the rate was considered cheap, I believe I overpaid quite a lot for what I got.
The room was exposed painted besser blocks with old carpeting, an old bathroom with a mirror that had black patches on it and a TV with no reception.
I was last at this motel (Resort is a stretch in anyones imagination) about 22 years ago and matched it on this day to photos I have of myself there in 1990. Everything was the same.
We were also unlucky enough to have teens/ 20's people one floor above and one room across from us that thought it was a good idea to sit on their balcony all night and talk and swear as loud as possible. It was so noisy I could hear every word they said even with the sliding door firmly shut. They finally retired at about 5am. So in my opinion, avoid this motel at all costs, it's not worth it. CONDOM DISCOVERED IN THE MORNING ON OUR BALCONY. PICS AVAILABLE ON REQUEST.

IN SUMMARY:-

Old dated in need of a major refit. Dirty stained carpets, rust in the bathroom, hardly any carparking, a lift that rattles, and smelly. If you pay more than $80 AUD a night, you are being ripped off. Plenty of other places to stay at Coolangatta all of them would be better than this place.

You have to feel for the staff, fronting a building that talks the talk and well thats it..$145per nite...dirty , crappy little rooms , sticky carpet, lifts that are older than me...sure its a great spot...but $145 per night..

whoever owns the hotel should be ashamed off themselves..an iconic position with a dump for a hotel. 3 star hotel, who are they kidding...i have seen better in kuta for $45 per nite.

just grubby and old..
i wouldnt put my mother in law in that place...

I just came back from Coolangatta, but (THANK GOD) I didn't stay here.

As I was exploring the area and looking over the skyline this monstrosity of a hotel stuck out like a sore thumb. It looks like an old Soviet apartment block. I pulled out my phone and Googled it and, of course, read the reviews on Tripadvisor. I think this thing is worthy of a Today Tonight/Current Affair piece since so many people have been ripped off. Third World on the Gold Coast.
