The Mars Volta broke up for 2 things, Omar always did all the music work, imposing to others members and they were tired, this is why they all had their own proyect outside the band. Omar fired a lot of band members or asked them to leave, so he could change their style. Cedric had problems with some band member too, like Thomas. But at the end it was all because Omar. Still, I love all of his work, it truly is all different

Its not a form of music that easily translates into like "big radio hits".. But TOOL does it once in a while! Anyway, this type of rock should not be abandoned, definitely not for some electronic "dance" tunes.. there are enough people in dance and or punk bands out there.. Guy seriously has better things to do seriously! Punk time signatures are so ATDI and TMV are beyond that

It lets your mind drift while being totally captivating at the same time. The greatest prog rock geniuses to ever live as a team, Omar and Cedric. Cedrics voice suits the uniqueness of this new type of rock! I get upset to see Omar leave to do something "creative and different" when he already is in the GREATEST BAND TO EVER EXIST.. its an insult to the people smart enough to appreciate it, and he downgrades to some chick-band who cant sing or write like Ceddy.

The Mars Volta cannot break up. They are the best band in the last 30 years and true artists. Francis the Mute and especially DELOUSED IN THE COMATORIUM translates perfectly into classical symphony very easily if you had an orchestra. The surrealistic lyrics, it is perfect music and everything that rock music should be. Like Pink Floyd but evolved and more sophisticated. Its sad they dont get the credit for everything they have done.

Francis the mute is my favourite because after listening to it for ages I was still discovering new things, but I think Deloused, Francis and Amputechture are all really great and it's a close call. I didn't like their latest work, but I'll always treasure all 3 of their first albums :)

This song goes hard.. unlike "since we've been wrong" and 70% of the album Nocturniquet *tons of soft sounding slow ballads that i didnt want to hear* that put me to sleep, and "turniquet man" that was always a crappy song on a great hard album. There is a line between being hard and egdy like "televators" while still a slow song and just ballady and or boring

This song came out like back in 2005 I would hear themb on krock 106.7 and after few months they were unheard till date... omar is chill he jams out with john frusciante from rhcp...
