UFO? Unidentified Flying Object. This is not a bird, it's insect... and it's now also identified! :)

  • Atleast myself I didn't notice any difference. You could 'google' for finding more information about these creatures.

  • These things are freaky. They have such long tongues and while they're hovering, they kind of let you hold them while their wings flutter in your hand. They do sound pretty loud for a moth!

  • You can hold them? Whoaah... I didn't knew it. I've to try if I see these cuties again. :)

  • And they grow up to be so pretty & cute!

  • they may eat a lot of tomato and tobacco in their worm stage, but they also do a great job of pollinating other species when they're adults. They're not ALL bad. Nothing in nature is.

  • They are also known as sphinx moth. They may look lovely, neat and everything, but their larvae are 1 of the most destructive pests of the tomato and tobacco industries. Their larvae are tomato/tobacco hornworms.

  • They love Bee Balm My gf's parents get them a lot.

  • I have lyk, 8 of those bbys in my yard right now feeding on a mimosa tree. I was wondering what the were. Rolf! =D

  • I'll get a video of mine one of these days. That was a good one.

  • They're freaking adorable.

  • I've seen those moths around my butterfly bush during the daytime. At night, there's this other kind of moth that's tannish-white that feeds from the butterfly bush.

  • With its 3 to 4 centimetre proboscis, it's well suited to Honeysuckle because of the deep nectarines but will tackle most plants.

  • This is a Hummingbird Hawk Moth. Usually seen from June to August.

  • My favourite moth i think so far, havent seen many, does anyone know any plants or flowers that attract them?

  • what a beautiful creature

  • I've seen them before, several times. They are beautiful! Almost as beautiful as Humming birds (those are one of my favorites)

  • ^.^ I see those in my backyard butterfly bushes sometimes. The first time I saw one, I thought it was a fairy. lol. Like shiftless said, they don't seem to be afraid of people.
