Kearny Marsh NJN / Classroom Closeup NJ

AP biology students from Kearny High School survey marshlands and then build and install bird houses in an effort to attract birds that combat mosquito infestations. The Meadowlands has the only fresh water in the area, creating a significant environmental impact for the residents of Kearney.

Classroom Close-up, NJ is a magazine program focusing on innovative education in New Jersey's public schools. A co-production with the New Jersey Education Association, this series features students, teachers, and communities who create and participate in successful school projects and events.
