The chinooks pull the sulky through town and onto the easement trail that goes through the woods. The dogs trot fast on this trail. When they reach the sewage treatment plant outflow pond, they play in the cooling water. They perform as sulky dogs much better on the way home than they did as they started out. At times they lope pulling the sulky. At times they pull through weeds over their heads.

  • Figure out your cowardly dog's favorite place. A relatively short distance from that place, hitch her to a bicycle tire or several zip tied together and have her pull them to her favorite place. Unhitch her and let her romp and play. When ever you hitch her to those tires, she is going to a wonderful place to play.

  • Thank you. Yes Brett is the reliable puller. I am always happy when Rosy pulls well also. Daphne

  • Yes, this particular "trail" is great for me because I don't need a car to get there and because it is a perfect distance for the dogs and because they love the free time at the water hole and because it is mostly in the shade which makes a big difference in Georgia's summer heat.

  • Thank you! I think the fact that I live by myself with them in the house with me makes a big difference.

  • I love your videos and your dogs.

I have a German Shepard,Golden Retriever, and a Labrador mix that I am teaching to sulky. She can pull and knows the commands but she needs to build up a little bit more muscle. The sulkies are also too much money for me. I also have a very "cowardly'" dog that doesn't like pulling, do you have any advice for me to get her to pull? She is afraid of a lot. Thanks

  • I ALWAYS love watching your videos! If you lived in California I would definitely join you on a run. Brett always looks like he is having the most fun, but I can see in some parts where Rosie is getting into it too. Also, what a great reward for them at the end of the trail! ~ Kristin

  • Oh, nevermind. I hadn't watched the whole thing and you explained it! They look like they had a brilliant time.

  • Do they have bells on, or is it just the clips jingling?

  • So well trained!!! I love seeing your dogs work, Daphne!
