The fans showed their support by throwing trash onto the field. That is the best way to support your team. Now that is what a die hard fan is supposed to do. That umpire had better be glad this wasn't in Philly. I'm sure a fan would have run out onto the field and attacked him.
The team was really looking bad at this point and this came on the heels of the Barrett/Zambrano dugout scuffle. I think Lou was genuinely pissed and decided this was the right time to wake the team up. He must have done something right because right after this they took off and went on to win the division.
I don't care what anyone says, Lou is a great manager, and him getting all up in the umpires' grills, makes him an even more legendary skipper! Haha I love watching him flip!
