We wanted to do a little animation test for wulfie, to see if we could get the water colour colouring to work and I have posted it below. A fairly successful job I think, although it still has some issues that I feel can be solved on the next test.
For anybody interested, the Pencil animation was done by Tom C, in a programme called Pencil and on the cintiq. Then the movie was taken into Anime Studio and using the pencil animation as the basis re was reanimated and refined and finally the texture applied, oh and the texture was made in Painter Essentials.
Anyway thats how we did it, on to the next test and a little harder animation i think.

  • do u use flash?

  • Hi PV

we use flash sometimes but for the above animation it was produced with Pencil, a open source animation drawing programme and finished in Anime Studio Pro to animate the textures.

  • I think much softness is lost from the traditional to the bone animation.

  • hmm, I think the rough had a nicer bounce and bend of the body, and also a better followthrough on the nose. in the cleanup the nose kinda sticks on the same place instead right now. the legs had a nice small squash and stretch on the rough asweel I think.

  • Great god, it just dies completely after the cleanup.

  • I like the stylized bounce in his step.

  • very nice

  • great animation, except, there needs to be more movement in the shoulders in the final part. (by shoulders, i mean that whole area) like some people said below, try and animate the fur moving some. it doesn't have to be a bunch. of course, i'm assuming this is just a walk cycle, so its not absolutely necessary

  • This is So nice, great job!

  • yeah i agree with what some of the other comments said; you need more fluidity in his movement. some secondary animation would be nice too (e.g. animate the fur bouncing on his back) :)

  • You need shape change on the torso , that was what got lost from the start.

  • yeah in pencil u can feel the wolfs weight
