Before I saw this video, I thought wolves simply howled in that classic, brief and chilling way. This video shows that is not the case all the time. These wolves are practically singing and jabbering. Thanks for clearing that up for me

Why would you pity them? These wolves have known captivity all their life and they're perfectly at home with the handlers and visitors that they receive.
These are not wild wolves taken into captivity, nor are they zoo wolves. They're socialised and as such have a completely different demeanour to animals you may see elsewhere.
They have a 2-acre enclosure yet the day this film was taken they chose to come over to the fence.

Zwykłe psy. Wilk w klatce nie jest wilkiem

A wolf in captivity is still a wolf - in the same way a lion in captivity doesn't become a pussycat.

The enclosure they're in is around 2 acres in size. What's shown in the clip is the holding pen, which is a much smaller area off the main enclosure that we can use to seperate the wolves if necessary.
Most of the time the gate to it is left open so the wolves can come and go as they please - it just happens that they chose to go in there to howl on the day I videod the clip.
If you look at the back of that holding pen you can see another fence; beyond that is the main enclosure.
