Now that Rashad Evans is clearly defined as the new No. 1 contender for the UFC light heavyweight title, the questions have started about his long awaited fight with Jon Jones.

The former teammates will square off in the main event of UFC 145 in Atlanta, and Evans is very much ready to put his rivalry with Jones behind him.

Evans talked after his fight with Phil Davis about the animosity with Jones, where they matched up with each other in the past, and how he'll deal with former teammates that will be helping his next opponent get ready.

This is Rashad Evans at the UFC on Fox 2 post fight press conference:

  • This guy by the name of Chael Sonnen has made a habit of winning fights by decision and he almost took out Anderson Silva. GSP does the same thing. No one questions his greatness. So why is it that when it comes to Rashad Evans everyone has something to say about him winning fights by decisions? He can still finish people, and he can finish Jon Jones. Actually, his best shot is to grind out a dominate win al la Sonnen, with his superior GNP. Jon Jones cannot toss Evans around

  • Alright... time for a logic lesson kids. Just because Jon Jones beat someone who KO'd Rashad Evans does not mean Jones will necessarily beat Rashad Evans as well. It's stated all the time: "Styles make fights!" Anyway... highlight reel knockout have become so expected by non-hardcore MMA fans that they completely fail to realize that the average MMA fight will go to decision. Sure, some type of stoppage what we've all come to expect, but there is no shame in winning a fight by decision.

  • IT'S WAR RASHAD!!!..READY TO SEE U AGAIN IN ATL.

  • @TheThetruthiz WTF Dragon Ball what... Speaking of BALLS, u might wanna take Rashad's of your chin.

  • @shinsama3333 On top of that this is a Pay-Per View event you have to promote it when your on this level unless you don't give a damn about your wallet, but this is not hype I truly believe its genuine. All Evans is saying is that Jon is a man like everyone else, but most of Jons fans believe this "god sent power" phony talk this blasphemous bastard speaks every time he cracks his lying lips open when the truth is this isn't even his weight class. Grow up. and stop watching so much Dragon Ball Z

  • @TheThetruthiz LOL is the Rashad moms or something , damn. Ok ma'am Well Mrs Evans your sons one hell of an athlete. I just have a problem with him always overhyping his fights. Rashad's always acting like he's gonna destroy shit and then does nothing, to me thats bullshit. "Your boy" is better suited for a soap opera than fighting as of late. p s i don't even own an xbox and I train MMA

  • @JAKE887 because your 100% idiot and 100% delusional; that's 200% jackass.

  • @shinsama3333 He won the Ultimate fighter...hes 5'11 and fights at light-heavy and became the Champion while having only one man in the UFC to ever defeat him............yeah you're right Rashad Evans Just doesn't deliver....I hate when internet losers make it seem like just because they're undefeated at UFC on xbox they know the difficulty of the real fight game....Any UFC fighter would dream to have a career like Evans,,he's done what 99% of them couldnt..you sound like a fucking joke
