Yes, I agree, I don't think Elvis was Catholic either, but he understood devotion, if I can recall Elvis loved his mother very much. As a Catholic, I thought this was a wonderful tribute to Mother Mary, and I think Elvis sang this song so beautifully!

There is another song called The Rosary sung by Vera Lynn. It is also very moving. My wife and I love the Rosary and try to kiss the Cross. There is much barren Gain and bitter loss in this life but The Cross is there at the end of those Rosary beads waiting for us with Jesus

Say what you want, but Jesus started One Church : Holy, Catholic and Apostolic and it has survived for 2,000 years. Do you really think that this was because of anything that men did... ???

From without and within, the actions of men could have destroyed this Church over and over again... even after thousands of divisions, it remains One, Holy, Catholic (Universal) and Apostolic... Have you ever wondered what has allowed it to remain and persevere ?

the dark ages proves that the bishops and popes of catholic-dom don't want people reading the scripture for themselves..that's why so many true believers were burned at the stake, etc.. because they wanted to read the bible for themselves...the truth isn't pretty, buts its the truth

Opponents of Mary's exalted status are disuniters of Christians. Those who see Mary as Mother are uniters.

Truth is promised to the Apostles, their disciples, their disciples, and so on. See Isaiah 59:20. We know who these early disciples are, and their followers, and so on. Their testimony is in favor of the exalted esteem of Mary. See Ignatius of Antioch, Polycarp of Smyrna, Clement of Rome, Irenaeus of Lyon, Justin Martyr, and their followers. There can be no such claim of truth for the thousands of differing Christian groups in modern times, who are the ones who denounce the honoring of Mary.

God Himself is a family, a Trinity, and not a solitude. Christians, especially early Christians, understand Jesus' coming to establish a family on Earth by means of a covenant. Our individual earthly familes are imperfect but modeled on the perfect family. Taking away Mary's role as mother makes no sense if we properly understand a mother's role in general and especially Our Lord's promotion of family as inherently good and necessary.
