Lyrics To The Poem:


I want just, a few minutes of your time
To speak this little rhyme
As i spread the thoughts of this..brilliant mind,
With the volume of my language
To the sound of my pen
Running with my lines, just listen to the end
I'm not a rap artist, nor any one's friend,
I'm just an 18 year old, with a hand to extend
I want to reach my hand out, to all the people of this world
From men to women, boys to girls
It's sad to see how fluently
We speak of riches so freely
"Money, cars, girls and clothes"
Where all are happy but no one knows,
The saddened sight of these poor souls
Who have seen neither silver nor gold
Lost in thought of pain and pleasure
These men, in search of useless treasure
We fuss and fight and we wage these wars
We lose our thoughts and run our stores
While the world is blind at this view
That we have people who could use,
a penny, nickel, dime or quarter
to use on a mom, dad, son or daughter
Living in rags with dust all around
Sleeping in filth all on the ground
We are blind to this, yet we all can see
That poverty is all over the globe
This is something that we all know
As we learn to live together
to benefit from one another
we can not stress the amount of love
that can even come from a simple hug
So lets stretch our hands and make a change
lets take away another's pain
we give them sunshine, instead of rain
and instead of lose, learn to gain.
Who are we, to torment these souls
living with clothes, all full of holes
We have to change this world we live in
So we can live in peace, all within.

Shazzy! I've read a lot of rhymes/poetry where people "think" they can either rap or rhyme. But I have to say, your poem was by far one of the best I've ever heard. I love the meaning behind it and you're not like every other kid who rhymes about useless things. To be honest, I'm intimidated by your work. You make me want to stop writing, lol. :)

I for one thought it was pretty good. the content and all was meaningful and i did see your enthusiasm! lol. i would say work on your delivery and if you can, try (not saying you have to) to memorize your lines. that being said well done!
