Kids were always disrespectful to elders. A radio host can't even pronounce what's part of the history of free software. And then goes to bash others so he can feel better. When you move on from Linux to something new, you'll have GNU again to thank it's free. Not that you "even care". People do real things to promote free software. You on the other hand, you talk uninformed nonsense.

1. What's the whole focus or goal of linux? To be the desktop everyone should have? To be the OS people can rely on for internet and personal security? to make it a job where programmers, graphic designers, developers (games, software, etc) and overall profesionals can make a living of? If not then what are you all(linux distros) thinking? If not then linux will always be an OS people work on WEEKENDS to make it better, not necesarily in every aspect nor for everyone.

2. Now if Distros sync into one main focus for linux, then I sure they will pick something productive with a brighter future, whether its linux vs windows or whatever. Then IM SURE DISTROS will realize "hey why not make it easier to install apps. Lets do all DEBs, or RPMs, or .BLAH." I mean, when users deside to try linux the first thing they want to do is install their favorite programs. I say, UNITED will conquer, DIVIDED...its just what it is.

It would be cool if Chris interviewed RMS, but he probably wouldn't go for an interview with a show who's title doesn't even SHARE CREDIT for the operating system you love with the GNU (100's of people in addition to Linus T.). Interesting that Bryan's 9:26min of my life that I can't get back diatribe focuses on the idea that more than RMS started GNU/LINUX. I thank the GNU's, Richard Stallman and other like minded people who CARE about preserving end-user freedoms. Your just being a crazytard?

Bryan please pronounce the letter M-A-C because I get the impression you want GNU/LINUX to be just like M-A-C with "some" open-source and "some" free software. But perhaps your trying to just anger people so they watch? Voting you down here bud.

The culture & history of GNU/LINUX is important, just as they are for Apple/MAC & Microsoft/WIN.

The GNU's & RMS non-profit dream is a 100% FREE system (OS and software) for ethical reasons that differ from the proprietary alternatives. You don't have to give RMS respect, you don't have to use Emacs. The historical fact is GNU/LINUX is about 100% not 99% user freedom. Using it's tools to make restrictive software is unethical, so go buy a MAC & "bow" to Steve Jobs for the source.
