Awesome Bevan...Well done. Shame Mr Armstrong never congratulated you at the end though. Can't handle losing that man but you're the winner in that showdown!

All credit to Bevan Docherty for showing humility with this win, not so for Lance, I just don't get it, first half Ironman and guy comes 2nd, instead of being humble and ecstatic he arrogantly walks past Bevan who for years has put his heart out there, 2 time Olympic medalist- then later he talks about watts and things to improve on- has he entered this sport with the same lack of clarity and humility that he entered Cycling, it won't win him a lot of friends as it didn't in Cycling

Lance has never been a good runner. And Docherty is not the right reference point if lance is to win something big. And Lance is not going to become a good runner now at age 40. he's been workign with Alberto Salazaar; but it is not showing in his form here. There were 25+ world class 70.3'ers not at this first-time, mid-winter, Central America event held in an Olympic year. Lance would have been 27th with them there.

Slack sportsmanship Docherty, you should be ashamed of yourself, typically arrogant NZ.

    Where's the acknowledgement you goose!

With some 10k rep training and a bit of leaning out Armstrong will run his pace, and with his swim potential then the bike it'll be how far.

I race that day, and 100% agree with you. We all that were there complained about the special atention that IM organization gave to Armstrong, even more, Armstrong broke to rules that should be enough to disqualify him: Took a complete staff with him inside the swimming start dock and he took off his helmet before hang his bike on the rack...too bad for the Organization! Kudos for Bevan!!!!

Everybody is entitled to their opinion and you're entitled to yours, as I said, Lance doesn't win over many people because he seems so utterly determined to smash the opposition, to me when he crossed that line he should have sought out Bevan and given him a hug and warm handshake, it seemed to me like he was actually pissed he was beaten, it's like when he won bronze in Sydney, he wanted to throw his medal in the river, Cmom LA show some class!!!

I dunno, man. I've seen top competitors congradulate one another at Kona. It seems like it customary for the winner to stand there and wait for the second and third place finishers and congradulate them. It looks like that's what Docherty was doing.

It's simple, Lance is an asshole. I don't mean that in a bad way, he just is.
