@trains72345 the beautiful thing is theres not much cranking to it... even in cold climates they fire up before the first working cycle of four compression strokes

@seanbagsss Yep, 3L series. This is a 2.8 liter direct injection SOHC diesel engine. 91 HP. 96x96 bore and stroke. Compression ratio is 22.1/1. For light truck and SUV applications. Comes as natural aspiration but turbocharger may be installed.

@crombieposterboy Np. In my opinion with my diesel, it's one tough engine. I have run the thing about 30k with cracked rings in the #1 cylinder and run it for the past year with a worn timing belt and the past two with a blown water pump. I have had 2500 lbs in the bed of my truck and got it up to 75mph. Toyota diesels have definitely earned my respect. That coming a long ways since my last truck was a Ford F-150 with a 300 inline six. Which is pretty indestructible. Slow but reliable.

@crombieposterboy I can't answer for that one but I can answer for mine which is a tad smaller. My 1L (2.2l) gets 38-42 city and 53-62 highway depending upon speed and driving conditions, hence the range. Of course the major problem with that engine, aside from getting parts, is horsepower generating 62 hp in stock trim and 93 ft-lbs of torque. Mines about 102 hp and 156 ft-lbs (cost $6,200....expensive) so it's drivable.
