im 13 i really want to get into downhill racing would you say a hardtail for a beginner is ok or do i need to save like £1000 for a ironhorse or something ive got huge forks on my old saracen xile

Cool, I would go but I cant, busy all day and ive got an exam the next day, don't particularly wanna wreck myself. Getting a second bike soon too :)
