Feb. 18, 2011 was a special day for BART. The transit agency on this day held a grand-opening ceremony and press conference for its 44th station, its newest one since the arrival of the San Francisco International Airport and Millbrae extensions in June 2003. BART officials, community leaders from the Tri-Valley, and the public all congregated to celebrate a historic achievement for the fifth-busiest rapid rail transit system in the United States. West Dublin/Pleasanton Station would open one day later on Feb. 19, 2011.
This fourth of seven clips from the ceremony features remarks from John MacPartland (Vice President, BART Board of Directors, District 5), former San Mateo County Superior Court Judge Quentin Kopp, and current Dublin mayor Tim Sbranti.
