On Thursday, April 16, the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected a petition by Troy Davis, sentenced to death on the basis of eyewitnesses who have since recanted or altered their testimony. Davis' attorneys filed a brief on the grounds that no court has yet held an evidentiary hearing on the new evidence of tainted testimony. The court denied the petition, with the majority noting several times that they were "constrained" by procedural rules.

@zluvu4ever You need to change your info. There was a total of 34 witnesses and the 7 who supposedly recanted never did that. They offered affidavits but that is immiscible in court unless someone takes the stand to formally recant. None of the 7 did so.

Justice for Troy Davis. It disgusts me that the judges won't listen to an appeal on this man. Are they in that much of a hurry to rid the earth of him???? Sickens me.
