A Long night and cold night on the CN Centralia Sub, The Original MainLine of Mid-America, was fruitful with numerous trains making appearances.

Enjoy! Thanks for Watching!
I'm glad I stumbled upon this video. I love the first scene. Simply incredible. It is the perfect example of night railroading: lonely streets in small towns, distant horns creating anticipation, crossing gates going down, and the amazing sound of two 4400 hp diesels pounding away with the horn blaring. It makes me want to make a night trip out to Du Quoin right now.

@stlgevo51 I love railfanning at night, it's so much more exciting.. the sound is the best part! At night in Du Quoin you can expect to see Amtrak 393, 58 and 59 and CN Freight trains A431, M343, and Q195. Of course that can easily change when a grain train get's thrown in the mix. If you go north of town to St. Johns (or north of the STL Wye) you'll see a couple BNSF Baldwin Coal trains, they are entirely random but they are always running.

@stlgevo51 NS is going to begin running their freight trains 167 and 168 soon from Belleville to Fulton, Ky... I am not sure when but it will start any time. They also plan on running Bulk (grain & coal) and intermodel trains on this route.
