Interesting vid. Now I have a question. How can I become Buddhist? I was a Roman Catholic for 16 years, now I'm an Agnostic Theist, and I think I can move from the middle ground and onto Buddhism, I think I'm ready for that. Do I have to go to a temple and do an initiation thing like in the Roman Catholic Church (Confirmation), or is it something that I can do with my own mind, thoughts, and spirituality?
There is no initiation in Zen, but other sects do have initiations for certain practices. I would reccomend doing a little research into the different schools first. See what is right for you. Then use this handy little internet of ours to find a temple close to you. But do your research, you may find that the temple doesn't give services in English. If you live near Chicago, one choice is the Chicago Zen Center.
