  • Good Stuff, I think they were riding 42-19, big ass gears.

  • more likely using

    39x23 or 39x24 gearing..

  • @socalrider909 nah, back then, everyone rode 53x42 on the chainring

  • @mikethern - 53x39 was the standard by the mid 80's..

  • Ahhhh, when pro cyclists rode with heart and ATTACKED on the mountain stages! I saw and recorded this back in 1988. I've also ridden up and down Alpe d'Huez twice during the Tour. HIGHLY recommend it to any cycling fan! The day before is INCREDIBLE!

  • Commentator has to shout over the music hehehe

  • Que gran velocidad , sobre todo en el falso llano

  • Liggett is a poet and the soundtrack adds so much to the drama of the stage

  • the soundtrack adds so much to the rhythm of the stage

  • Wow. I remember this from back in the day. Hampsten cracked so badly, I felt sorry fir him. And Bauer passing him must have been demoralizing fir him. But he did live to fight another day.

  • Rooks admitted to doping, Theunisse was a doper aswell, same as Delgado...

  • @dachicagoan are you serious! How can he be anymore motivated! If anything it is off putting, it breaks your concentration! You don"t need some fat prick shouting at you when your on your limit! Hampsten is a legend for Gavia pass in the Giro 88, same year as this...

  • @SomeUsefulVids He's not just a commentator, he's a legend, he's Phil!

  • @dachicagoan

I think he did a nod to spectator to mean " ok, thank you for your support"

  • awesome music...
