@jmustern345 You don't dig 5-strings? Not sure why I did that... guess I just wanted to go "boom." Thanks for checking it out.

@TommyAutoTune Thanks for checking it out! I guess I don't really want to get into the guitar building business, but it didn't really turn out to be all that hard if you want to have a go at it.

@andredidiergijon True, I guess I should have titled it "Dan 'assembles' a Fenderbird." Thanks for checking it out.

yea the only problem with doing the 5th string how u did is that that neck was made to be spaced properly for 4 strings not 5. u should have just ordered a 5 string neck, you might also have problems with string tension since 5 string necks also have stronger truss rod support for the extra pull of the low B. if u like the way it plays and sounds then thats good, but u might have some problems down the line.

@PageIdol69 Thanks for your thoughts. It seems that replacement parts are based on Fender specs and Fender 5-string necks are too fat for my taste. Obviously I had to fabricate a nut. I've been playing the thing for two years now and I have had to adjust the truss rod twice. I still have plenty of room, but I guess it could become an issue. I wouldn't have tried it, but I saw a guy who had done a bunch of them on the internet. He even converted Rickenbackers! There's a link in description.
