This was at the time when the BBC logo was simplified, and it replaced The Circular UK Map, which was first used in 1960.

For your information, bbctim123, The BBC Television Service adopted its first globe identification. This one lasted from Sept. 30, 1963 to April 20, 1964, when BBC TV was split into BBC1 and BBC2. The BBC Globe lasted from Sept. 30, 1963 to March 29, 2002. I'm a fan of the BBC Identifications in the Philippines. Thanks.

You're right, exploder76. This was the first Globe ident of the BBC tv. This replaced the 1962 Circular UK Map ident.
