"Inappropriate removal of hand from throttle" (Certified Flight Instructor Oral Exam Guide)
That's one of the first things you should check when giving instruction, as a common mistake made by inexperienced pilots. You should never remove your hand from the throttle during landings, take-offs, or maneuvering.

no matter how long the runway is, no matter what manouvre you are performing, always keep only the LEFT hand on the yoke, the other one - depending on the situation - on the throttle or during cruise on maps, papers etc..

Always hold on to the throttle. Say a little gust of wind decides to float you from 5ft over the runway, to 25 feet over the runway. Then you stall. I hope you can still get the doors open.

"Trzeba by było zatankować"... polish airport :D

yeah u should always have the other hand on the throttle as it's standard procedure for takeoff, landings, and cruise.

Sorry sebo.. two hands is a no no

Of course actually I only use my index middle and thumb. flying is controlling the aircraft with small addjustments. who the fuck uses 2 hands anyways.

that was a great landing, i don't wanna sound like an ass, but i'm getting ready for my solo next week, and was always thought one hand on the yoke only, and one hand ALWAYS on the throttles. Other then that great landing.

I agree.....hands on the throttles at all times, cuz sometimes all you got is a split second decision.....and flaring with a small plane with two hands, i find thats a lack of skill....or lack of refined pilot skills...even cessna instructors recommend 1 hand flying.....what do you guys think?
Interesting view. I was always taught to have the hand on the throttle at all times on landing just in case a go around was needed.

That runway is 1500m long. There's no need to have the hand on the throttle during landing.
