On Monday 9 November 2009, filmmaker Carie Lemack launched an international campaign Global Survivors Network: Speaking Truth to Terror- on the fourth anniversary of the terrorist attacks that claimed dozens of lives in three hotels in Amman in 2005. The Global Survivors Network (GSN) stems from the UN Symposium for victims of terror held in September 2008 - the first global event of its kind.
The GNS aims to bring together victims of terrorism from around the world, both online (via a discussion forum on the GSN website) and offline through workshops, events, school and universities engagement programmes in the survivors home countries to highlight these issues and help prevent the radicalisation of vulnerable young people. A documentary film on the effects of terrorism, as seen through the eyes of both victims and individuals sympathetic to terrorist acts, is also currently being filmed.
i am a survivor of a terrorist act, and i am a proud supporter of the GSN.
come join us and be a part of the healing process
