Tut,tut Norrie.If you are going to pontificate you need to read up a bit.First recorded use of tartan was by Celts in Northern Italy,bagpipes originated in the middle east & kilt-like clothing has been used in various cultures. I have never understood why such things have been marketed as Scottish in origin when they clearly are not.Mouthblown pipes have been in Ireland at least 1,000 years & the national dress is a Saffron/Green kilt.You should get to know your own history a bit more too.

Kilts, tartans, bagpipes are all Scottish, no wonder the Americans are all confused. The Irish have their own culture, never understood why all these Scottish things are seen as Irish as they never wore kilts and never played the bagpipes and never had tartan.
