Yes fans know the Queen's Park video is one of music's great tragedies. The band is at their prime, playing arguably better than they ever have, but the first set is mixed so badly it is barely listenable. So I spent hours last night, stretching and bending a Sound Chaser bootleg from another show onto the QPR video.

No, not a perfect dub at all, but not bad for a first try. It really gets off when Patrick gets going. I had to cut 5 or 6 measures to make it fit, but there was no way to match the performances... which were entirely different... and then I found out that he screwed in up the Jersey show and came in late on the cadence.

The guitar solo is from QPR audio. That would have been impossible to match.

I'll try a better version when I get better equipment ... and maybe a better boot.

  • Ladies and Gentlemen, after a year of fuking around, I have finally started working on editing QPR Gates Of Delirium with audio from the Jersey show . After the first minute or so I can this this will be a bitch. but it simply must be done. Keep an eye out for the post. :-)

  • Wow! Please do the whole thing! Lets start a "Save the QPR" fund!!! I will put up some cash!!!! Someone call Squire and lets get this going!

  • @mabn9393 Well, it's not the whole thing, but just finished "Gates..." and posted as a video response to this. It's in two parts, and if I say so myself, it's better than this one. Used video from the dvd. Enjoy.

  • dude, they should hire you to make the definitive version of this dvd.

  • @jpirard Hmmm... I'd need some better equipment. Maybe I should try and dub another one from QPR.... let's say Gates Of Delirium? haha. Give me about a month... or three. ;-)

  • That was supposed to read 'awesome show'. haha

  • AWESOME JOB !!

  • I still don't understand how the mix from that QPR 1975 video got so screwed up. There is NO WAY it sounded that way to the audience present at the show. It's almost like a toddler got control of the soundboard and started randomly sliding the knobs without rhyme or reason. Then the people who made the video did nothing at all to correct the audio. It's incomprehensible!

  • Thanks for doing this!!

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

  • @Moreoff Hey man I was there too and it was my first big arena concert too and one of many to follow. What a magic experience and the sound was great when we were there so such a shame the recording mix was such a mess. I never forget the performance of Topographic Oceans and of course Close To The Edge. Wow this was now over 35 years ago but nobody can scrub those memories until the final sleep comes.

  • Thanks for this great work !

  • Phenomenol job, IYAMNI, at adding superior audio to (what I presume is) the Tommy Gun Video of Sound Chaser. The synching is amazing. Great Video on YouTube, in fact, one of the best!
