  • What's a $125 billion stimulus package going to achieve that an almost $1trillion stimulus package in Iraq couldn't?

  • How precise a time stamp does YouTube have? I just want to note that, at the time I wrote the comment above, the same idea had not yet begun its string of appearances in 90% of the economics blogs on the Web -- or at least I hadn't read it yet. You know, there's that saying about great minds....

  • Good points. But I wonder if slowness in fiscal policy response is less of a problem now that it has been in the past. Recently, our business cycle problem has not been deep recessions but slow labor market recoveries. In 1992 or 2002 it would not have been so bad if Congress had come out with a stimulus when the recession was already over.
