You know the sound you're looking for: ground-shaking, bowel-loosening, face-melting metal distortion to make the demons howl and the angels weep. But even if you don't have the 6L6-equipped, hot-rodded, 100-watt Cali stack you can still get metal heaviness done right with the MXR M-116 Fullbore Metal distortion pedal.
This demo features the MXR Fullbore Metal in front of a Vox AC15 — not an amp typically associated with any genre that's described by throwing a "-metal" or "-core" on as a modifying suffix. Thanks to the M-116's extensive tone-shaping — including a sweepable mid frequency control — you'll be able to tailor your gain to get punishing metal tone out of almost any guitar-amp combination. Give it a listen, if you dare.
@Skaterboy1028 I think that could be covered with an amp or a basic distortion pedal.
