"Janet was only 4 or 5 days in from receiving the new healthy stem cells. This is not enough time for the cells to engraft, this process takes about 45 days, so it was not the donors cells that failed or the transplant. It was the fact that she was extremely ill, that she had to wait 3 years to find that perfect donor, that her disease progressed to the point that she could not recover from the treatment. Janet had received so many rounds of chem and other drugs in the past 3 years..."
