Let's Play the Second of the SSI Gold Box AD&D Dragonlance games: "Death Knights of Krynn"!

Who would have thought we'd be called upon to save Ansalon again, so soon after the last time*!?

Anyway, about this game: It is very undead-heavy, so it is a good thing I have three clerics! Also, this is probably my second least favorite Gold Box Game, not because it is in and of itself bad, but because there are SO MANY non-Krynnish elements in the game. Champions of Krynn was very good about being very authentically Dragonlance, while this one is... not so much. Still, it's fun, and that is what is important.

*Certainly not people who saw the end of Champions with Soth doing the obvious foreshadowing...

  • I like how they had music during the demo as well as for the intro; I believe the brief musical "themes" show up during gameplay, too. I wonder if this was the first Gold Box game to include music beyond the intro music?

  • @DOSBoxMom I believe it was.

  • Any chance of a Dark Queen of Krynn let's play in the future?

  • @Crust218 Of course. I'll be LPing all the Gold Box games.

  • The music is very Tim Burton Batman.

Flavius used hold! It's super effective!

"Maybe they'll learn that next time." I doubt it.

CE Solamnic Knights? Gaming engine fail...but at least they shall help defend Krynn!

You didn't expect the Outpost to be the color of BRIGHT PINK DOOM.

  • Yay! I'll be more than interested in how you handle Dave's Dungeon or whatever it's called.

  • Dread wolves appeared in the novel The Legend of Huma where I think they were presented as a fairly dangerous monster.

  • This was my favorite of the Gold Box games I had for my old Commodore 64. Looking forward to this as well.

  • Interesting start! I was looking forward to this one since the end of Champions. =D

  • The Forgotten Realms Gold Box games (from Curse of the Azure Bonds on) had "Human Change Class" as an option in the "training hall"/party creation screen; however, the Dragonlance series dropped that to include "Knight Change Order" instead. (I rediscovered that the hard way when I was replaying DKK a couple of years ago!) :(
