The role of Juniper from "Tomorrow's Wish"

note from Annette:
OMG i was SO nervous. it was so scary being up there :| this is the first acting class i have ever taken so i'm not used to being on stage. i had this whole monologue memorized and then under pressure i went blank (at some points, which you'll see when i call for my lines) :( so i was kinda sad cause i wanted to be really into it and perform it with energy/do it well, but my nerves took over. anyway i wanted to show you guys since you were all so kind and gave me tips on my previous practice video. thanks for all the help, guys! too bad i didn't do as well as i'd hoped.

Oh, p.s.- the reason I'm looking off to the right is because the prof asked us to pick a spot in the room and pretend the person we were "talking" to was there.

  • One cannot appreciate what actors can do until one tries to do it, you know memorize lines and act them in front of another human. Your mind goes poof if you dont know the lines.

It is so challenging....but when you succeed, you feel like a million bucks.

  • Taaaake it slooooow, girl.

  • @benjaminandrew123 you are entirely correct, right now i have to write my own monologue for my advanced drama showcase in highschool, and its about drinking, and ive never drank in my life, its tough

  • it's not just about memorization. you need to know the lines well enough where you don't even think about them, they come with the memories/experiences your character is talking about. potential though.

  • you should put this on actingtown and get feedback from those in the industry.

  • I can barely see you can't you film at a different angle?

  • good job! it'd be aaaaamaaazingg if you could watch my version :D

    pleease and thankyou! :D

  • This was pretty good for your first attempt at a monologue, especially taking into account how nervous you were. My biggest suggestion to you would be that the next time you do a monologue from a play, don't necessarily read the play (though it would help), but do a lot of research on the play and you character in particular. I think doing so will help you become emotionally invested in the performance, which will improve your performance greatly.
