@BajaXJ92 Thank you for getting back to me. I have done additional research and learned there are 914's and 914-6's. Fascinating, to me. I also learned they were indeed a joint venture between Porsche and Volkswagen. . . . . . . .someone died in the beginning phases, so relations were damaged in the time. I ask the questions because I drive a '70 Beetle for now. My mechanic says "if you want to go faster than 65, buy a faster car". Porsche's look sooooo good. I wish they made a 2dr 4 seater! :)

The 914 is a mid-engine, right? It is mounted right behind the seats? Where is the fuel tank? What does "machone71 mean by Porsche "purists"? If it was built by Porsche, it is a Porsche. Oh ya, very beautiful car!

@whiteribbonman1 - Yes, the 914 is a mid-engine car. The fuel tank is mounted in the front trunk(boot) just in front of the windshield. The "purists" used to think the 914 was nothing more than a high-end VW since it was a VW-Porsche joint project. The "purists" have been embarassed many times on the track however since in most cases, the 914s out handle 911s as they're more balanced in corners. I've spoken with Porsche owners that have both 911s and 914s and they prefer the 914. :)
