Although Finger cymbals or zils are a dancer's natural accompaniment to the dance, beginning students are often confused by their relation to the music and dance steps. In this 30 minute workshop, Carolena demonstrates the basic elements of music theory along with Five basic zil patterns. Simple, easy to follow directions for Alternating Right-Left, Standard Right-Left-Right, Military, Baladi and Moroccan Six. Combine the video workshop with our Tribal Dances Tribal Drums CD, and you'll be playing and dancing in no time!
To get good at playing rhythms you have to drop the ridiculous terms and learn to count and actually know the name of the base rhythm that is being played.
