Atul Gawande is a surgeon and writer. He is a staff member of Brigham and Women's Hospital, the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the New Yorker magazine. Additionally, he is associate Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School and Associate Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Gawande recently published, The Checklist Manifesto. As a speaker for Cleveland Clinic's "Ideas for Tomorrow," he discusses the progression of medicine, complexities of healthcare delivery and how to attain cost-effective, high-quality care.
