clipping one wing is cruel, the bird can't balance, if you decide to clip birds, both wings. Clip enough feathers so the bird can't gain heigth, only a smooth flight downwards. (thats the point of clipping) Caiques are bad flyers anyway, the wings are too small compared to their body and weigth.

I dunno about the wings, but they both look the same to me....
Very cute birdy! I have a black-headed caique also, but he doesn't talk human so much (I hope to change that, I've only had him a couple months). He's also quite the romancer. He even tries to make a sexy-time with me... and my boyfriend...

@slammer8913dj umm i will debate this but there is many different opinions, I had a bird that had one wing clipped and it crashed and broke a leg, I will no longer cut one wing ever, but that is just one personal opinion

well god help ur birds then, u dont cut 1 wing MORON seriously!!!! 4 those who dont know just call ur vet & research online,u WILL SEE,if u listen 2 the idiots on here ur putting ur bird in danger..these people make me fuc*ing sick seriously..WHO CUTS ONE BIRDS WING!!!! FYI a bird cant fly if 1wing is clipped on one side & the other isnt jesus christ...u either clip the wings giving them some flight or leave them full flighted! ugh now excuse me im going to go throw up from the idiocy on here.

Coolman is correct An idiot an idiot would cut the flight feathers on both sides.The idea is to off balance the bird so it cant fly in a direct line it will go to ground and is easier to be caught if both wings are cut and the bird is chased by a cat or other animal it cant get away at all atleast with one wing cut it is still able to gain some height away from predators. I have been breeding parrots for over 30 years i think i should know a little about it

If you mean to only trim the feathers on one wing, that is an extremely bad idea. They'll hurt themselves very badly if them fall. Always trim both wings evenly.
