The technology of this aircraft was amazing, even by today's standards.

@impCaesarAvg Well said and you are correct in that point. However, as the composer and the song was known to nobody until the tune became the national anthem of Communist China in 1949. So it is still odd to have it linked to US war planes. I am a Chinese in "free zone" and I am proud of the war effort of China in WWII. But I can tell you that in the Mainland today US is still depicted as sinister devil. Communist authority hate Americans and Korean War is their Jericho.

@hkjazzable I noticed that, too. But this film was made during the Second World War, years before the proclamation of the People's Republic of China. The March of the Volunteers was simply a patriotic Chinese song.

Incredible Plane, flown by heroes all.. Not to be soon forgotten..

6:20 The national anthem of Communist China is inappropriate because the Communist only take advantage of the war to take up the country. They did not contribute to the war effort.

The world's only flying B-29 is now hangered at the CAF museum in Midland, Tx.
It is a beautiful machine and a tribute to all those who built it and flew it.

It amazes me how much money was spent (borrowed) to finance weapons programs from WW2 through the 60's

Manufacturing the B-29 was a complex task. It involved four main-assembly factories: a pair of Boeing plants at Renton, Washington and Wichita, Kansas, a Bell plant at Marietta, Georgia ("Bell-Atlanta"), and a Martin plant at Omaha, Nebraska ("Martin-Omaha"). Thousands of subcontractors were involved in the project. Due to its highly advanced design, challenging requirements, and immense pressure for production, development was deeply troubled. On 18 F
I was there at Tyndall AFB when the last KB-29 was flown off to Davis Monthan for scrapping in 1957. It is a BEAUTIFUL Bomber!

The b-29s "Enola Gay" and "Bockscar" were both built under Boeing license at the Glenn L Martin plant in Omaha, Nebraska.
But I think you are correct, Madelyn Dunham was employed by the Boeing Wichita plant during the war, where b-29s were rolling off the assembly line.
