gheenoe with evinrude 9 9

13' gheenoe, loaded with a 1980 evinrude 9.9 and a 15 hp carb. Not sure about exact speed, but I was going good, estimate around 20+ way faster then I go with my 2001 8hp merc. I'll gps it next time. I know a lot of people say you can't get anymore out of a 9.9 with a 15 carb, but I think I was getting more then 9.9 horses today. I haven't even begun to tweak it yet. Motor runs right as rain, and isn't overly rich running as some people say will happen. I'm rebuilding the 9.9 carb now and will install that one and do a speed test soon.

24 in a small skiff is fast, all that plane area is awesome. The gheenoe's don't have a huge plane area, just one of the trade-offs of having a boat that can be paddled and run fast.
